The Imagine Series
13 Apr 2021
What is The imagine Series?
The imagine Series is a series of events showcasing stories.
Stories of courage, leadership, pathways and journeys, twists and turns along the way that taught lessons and defined futures. It is not a selling platform.
Its mission is:
- TTo seek out those stories and allow them to inspire and teach, trigger imaginations, and spark actions and ideas to better the world we live and operate in, both professionally and personally.
- To connect with like-minded, inspired people.
- The best way to predict the future is to work together to create it.
The imagine Series hopes to unlock potential and inspire ideas and actions to create some level of improvement for people – whether in the workplace, home or community (and hopefully all three). To create a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas and experiences, lessons learnt and ways forward – to change the world by changing our world in a positive way.
We are conscious about giving something back and delivering a platform of inspirational opportunities and strengthening relationships for businesses in Auckland. Hopefully, attendees will discover ways to pay it forward and use the stories and learnings to develop opportunities for themselves and others around them to do good things.
Event #6: Wednesday 14 April 2021 – Dealing effectively with change and challenges – Keynote speaker Dr Paul Wood
This Imagine series session will be focusing on success as a team effort – look at aspects of transformational change and growth, leadership effectiveness, staff engagement and productivity. Inspiring people to be always improving and being courageous even when vulnerable
Dr Paul Wood is a Doctor of Psychology, motivational speaker, leadership and development specialist, media personality, husband and father. His area of expertise is in helping people pursue their potential while developing the mental toughness and resilience necessary to flourish through adversity. At 18, Paul was in prison, and his life was completely off the rails. Paul uses his journey from delinquent to doctor to illustrate the process of transformational change and how we can strive to be the best version of ourselves possible.
Based on his own extraordinary life story of addiction, crime and redemption, Paul draws universal insights for anyone in business. Audience members gain tools to be courageous in making important decisions and managing the negative emotions that potentially impact their performance.
Attendees will come away with a clear idea of how to deal more effectively with change, challenge, and their negative emotional experiences. They will also have a better understanding of the how and why of taking responsibility for their own development, clarifying their values, avoiding burnout, and promoting a growth mindset. These are all factors that contribute directly to leadership effectiveness, staff engagement and productivity.
