Apple Mac Systems Engineer

About the opportunity:

We are NZ’s premier Apple IT support and integration specialist and have been in the IT industry for over 32 years. We are looking to add an Apple Mac Support to our close-knit team in Epsom, Auckland.

Role description:

You will be responsible for providing the ongoing technical support of hardware and software applications at multiple sites. This role focuses on macOS client support and integrating these endpoints with Microsoft Cloud-based solutions and MDM/EDM technologies. A big part of the role involves interacting with customers and providing end-user training where needed. You will regularly visit customers onsite or contact them via phone/email/chat applications for more straightforward issues. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues by asking customers targeted questions
• Deploying and maintaining new and existing NAS servers
• Deploy Mac desktops at scale in various customer environments
• Design and implement zero-touch deployment solutions using Jamf products
• Monitor, track & resolve both desktop & server related issues within the SLA resolution times
• Ensure all issues are appropriately logged, and unresolved problems are escalated promptly
• Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
• Keep all internal documentation up-to-date at all times
• Follow up with customers to ensure their systems are fully functional after resolution

This role will suit someone with the following background/experience/qualities:

• Qualifications in a relevant field
• Proven work experience, previous experience working at a Managed Service Provider (MSP) is an advantage
• The ability to explain technical detail to non-technical people
• The ability to build rapport with a wide variety of customers and express confidence
• Valid NZ drivers license is a must
• Proven experience with deploying and troubleshooting networking infrastructure
• Experience in Apple’s Deployment Programs & MDM/EDM vendors (Jamf, Cisco Meraki)
• Familiarity with endpoint security products, TeamViewer; Apple Remote Desktop
• Experience in Scripting (bash & zsh) would be an advantage
